Opus 5.5 is much better than Opus 5

Opus 5.5 is a huge improvement over Opus 5, which was a major disappointment for most people. Opus 5 was lazy, made frequent errors and often stopped to ask follow-up questions.

Opus 5.5 is extremely good at frontend work. It understands your intentions well, follows instructions closely and isn’t over-eager, and there’s less neuralese and Claudish in its writing. It’s also faster in tokens per second, because according to Anthropic it’s a smaller model. Most of my friends had good vibes with it. How does Anthropic keep doing it again and again, I wonder, haha.

I’m using Opus 5.5 right now to edit this blog, and it’s really good at computer use, at least with Chrome over CDP.
